Description

Creating a storey

InstalSystem provides the opportunity to create main storeys and additional and internal storey levels based on them. To create storeys in accordance with the project data use tools and functions presented in the Storeys management tab.

Creating main storey

  • Use the Generate storeys function to automatically generate multiply storeys. Fill in all the required data. Note: The entered parameters and parameters provided by default can be modified in the Data table window for the particular storey;
  • Use the functions Add new storey above and Add new storey below to add separate storeys. Note: Added storeys will contain the parameters of the storey above or below which they are inserted;
  • Use the Copy function to copy the storey. Note: This function is particularly useful when creating buildings with typical storeys for copying storeys with already created plans and drawn piping or ducting;
  • Use the function Delete to delete the storey.

Attention! There is a direct interrelation between the following parameters of a storey and the parameters of the building. The modification of them for the particular Storey affects the changing of the data for the entire building:

  • ha (Storey height) - if this field is changed:
    • for the Storey comprising 0.00 elevation, starting from 0.00 or located above 0.00, all the storeys above are moved;
    • for the Storey located below 0.00, all the storeys below are moved.

  • Hs (Storey elevation) - if this field is changed, the whole building is moved up or down without changing the value of Storey height;

Depending on the method chosen for creating the building structure, other parameters of the storey component will be important. The most important data to pay attention to are presented in more detail for each of the building structure creation methods described later in this article. Numbering of rooms

For a building structure that includes rooms (being the result of the design of a full structure or of a building structure with rooms), it is possible to assign room symbols by selecting the Symbols assignment operation and selecting the room labels in the order desired.


In the General data window, in the Component appearance and descriptions configuration section, the Name patterns according to which symbols will be assigned can be specified. The numbering configuration shown below means that the Room number displayed in the Symbol field consists of the storey symbol and of the subsequent number on that storey, which is always a two-digit number. More explanations will be displayed by positioning the mouse pointer on the button.
