Problem description

In cases of buildings with complex geometry, may arise untypical situations in creating automatic thermal partitions and, as a result, Thermal calculations of building and in creating Thermal model of a building (For more information, see: Calculation of design heat load of rooms).
The examples below show quick solutions for the most common instances.

Solution

  1. Multi- pitched Roof cuts walls in unexpected places - use Add roof edge and, if necessary, Trim slab (by roof element). For more information, see: Preparation of building structure - Roof modeling;
  2. Dormer can be modeled using Roof edges or using Dormer element. Special attention should be paid in cases of presence of knee walls and multiple storeys. For more information, see: Preparation of building structure - Roof modeling - Creation of dormers;
  3. There are rooms in the project that have not been generated automatically - check and correct elements of the Building structure. For more information, see: How to eliminate diagnostic messages regarding building structure;
  4. Part of an external wall is missing in Thermal calculations of building - check if:
    • the Wall belongs to the Room,
    • the Wall is correctly cut by the Roof,
    • the structure of the Room is complete (both adjacent Rooms and Rooms located above / below).

Attention! After each modification of the Building structure, it is necessary to restart the Computation of building structure .
