Problem description

When the program automatically divides a Pipe-run into sections upon the connection of installation elements, some of the sections may end up being too short to accommodate Fittings. There also may be unwanted overlap between vertical parts. The article describes the procedure for controlling the position and length of sections within a multi-section Pipe-run. The example given here is to the Designing heating systems with convective radiators, but this guideline also applies to the Designing of water supply system installation and Designing mechanical ventilation installations.

Solution

  • Connect installation elements with the use of Supply / Return Pipe-run single or pair elements,
  • In the Data table window / Vertical layout of pipe-run field change the setting Auto to Manual elevations of sections,
  • If necessary, split the section using Insert midpoint or Insert dividing point function and apply the same change only to part of the section. Modify the length of the section by adjusting the position of the inserted point.
Note: Fittings can be installed before or after the modification of the section.
