InstalSoft licence management system
InstalSoft Licence Management System serves for performing operations on the licences of InstalSystem 5 package. Operations that can be performed are: creation of new licenses, upgrade (extension) of the licence configuration, upgrade (change) of the licence validity period.
- Operations performed in the licence management system are logged in along with information about the user who performed them.
- Performed operations on the licences are settled according to the conditions of commercial agreement.
- Access to the system is delivered via e-mail (link, login, and temporary password).
- At first usage, the system asks for change of delivered temporary password.
Creation of new licences
- Licence code – shows licence number that will be created.
- Create - defines whether a single licence or a series/multiple licences are to be created.
- Number of licences – allows to define number of licences to be created. All licences created at the same time have the same series, configuration and validity period.
- Licence configuration – allows to choose configuration of created licence.
- Licence time limitation – allows to define validity period of the licence.
- Assign user to licence – available only for single licence. Possibility to assign defined user / licencee to a licence. Assigning user to the licence is optional. If a user is not assigned during licence creation process, the user will be asked to fill the data at first licence activation.
- After the licence creation (Create New Licence) a summary of performed operation is displayed. The System also sends an e-mail with information about the new licence to the address:
- a. If the package uses Automatic Distribution System, the e-mail with confirmation of performed operation is sent to the same address to which licence requests are sent.
- b. If the package does not use Automatic Distribution System, the e-mail with confirmation of performed operation is sent to the Contact e-mail address (used for reminders about upcoming termination of time limited licences).
- c. If the Contact e-mail address is not set the e-mail with confirmation of performed operation is sent to the e-mail assigned to the user performing the operation.
- d. If the licence is assigned to the user / licensee, the system additionally sends an e-mail to the indicated user e-mail address.
Upgrade of the licence
Field marked with two stars (**) shows current licence settings.
Field marked with one star (*) shows settings chosen by the user (available if Licence management system is connected with Automatic Distribution System of InstalSystem 5 package).
Fields without stars (*) shows new settings for the licence.
- Licence code – licence number to be upgraded
- Licence status – shows if it is possible to use v5 package with a given licence.
- a. Available – usage of InstalSystem 5 is possible
- b. Potential –licence for package v4 with possibility to be upgraded (change status for ‘Available’). Licence with status ‘Potential’ does not allow to activate package v5.
- Licence configuration – allows to change licence configuration. Only those configurations to which upgrade from current configuration is possible, are visible in the list of configurations.
- Licence time limitation – defines if a licence is time limited or perpetual (without time limit).
- a. For time unlimited licences the filed should not be changed.
- b. If time limited licence is to be prolonged to time unlimited licence the field should be set on ‘without time limit’.
- c. If time limited licence stays as time limited but validity is to be prolonged for another period, the field should be set on ‘time limited’.
- Extend for another year – – allows to prolong validity of the time limited licence. To prolong the licence, the field should be set to ‘YES’.
- Assign user to licence:
- a. For v5 licences, that are already assigned to the user, the option is not active. Data of the assigned user is available in the table below.
- b. Gives possibility to assign user the v4 licence that is upgraded to v5. Assigning user to the licence is optional. If the user is not assigned during licence upgrade, the user will be asked to fill the data at first activation of pv5 package.
- After the upgrade is done (Upgrade Licence)) a summary of performed operation is displayed. The System also sends an e-mail with information about the operation to the following address:
- a. If the package uses Automatic Distribution System, the e-mail with confirmation of performed operation is sent to the same address to which licence requests are sent.
- b. If the package does not use Automatic Distribution System, the e-mail with confirmation of performed operation is sent to the Contact e-mail address (used for reminders about upcoming termination of time limited licences).
- c. If the Contact e-mail address is not set the e-mail with confirmation of performed operation is sent to the e-mail assigned to the user performing the operation.
- d. If the licence is assigned to the user / licensee, the system additionally sends an e-mail to the indicated user e-mail address.
Assign user to licence
Each active licence for InstalSystem 5 package must be assigned to the licensee (licence owner).
- A licence may be assigned when the licence is created / upgraded from v4, or when it is activated for the first time.
- Fields ‘Licensee name’, ‘User name’ and ‘Email’ are obligatory. However, on producer’s request, it is possible to set, in a given package, all the fields as obligatory.
- If the package uses Automatic Distribution System, fields in the form are automatically filled with the data given by the user in the licence request form in Package Manager.
- Licensee name (licence owner) is defined only once for a licence, it is not possible to modify it.
