Problem description
Often when designing heating installations it is necessary to take into account the capacity of another heat source that is not connected to the designed installation. This can be an electric heater in the bathroom - the most frequent use of this element, fireplace, stove and etc. This article describes in detail how to include the Other heater element in the project.
Solution
The Other heater icon is located in the Convectional section on the Main tools bar, when Convectional editing scope is active.
In order to correctly account the Other heater element, the following steps are to be performed:
- Within the Construction scope:
- Select the Room, where the Other heater should be placed;
- In the Data table find the Φreq,H (Required heating output) tab and specify Contribution [%] or Φreq,H for the Other sources. Specifying one of the values implies automatic calculation of the other.
Attention! The input value is automatically taken into account in the percentage coverage of the heat demand of the room by summing up the capacities of all available heat sources in the room (e.g. Radiant - floor, Radiators and Other).
- Within the Convectional scope:
- Place the Other heater in the required Room. If the element is placed outside the room, the program will signal this with a corresponding diagnostic message;
- In the Data table for the Other heater improve:
- Distance from floor (set in storey data),
- Sizes,
- Φreq,H or Contribution [%] if there are several elements of this type in the Room.
Attention! The program takes the value of the Φreq,H from the Room data, and the value of the Contribution [%] is 100% for one heater. For multiple units, these values are divided equally among them after performing the Calculations, if otherwise is not specified manually; - If the Other heater should not be considered in the Room heat demand coverage, check ON the box Not considered in heat demand coverage.
- Φother (Obtained other heat sources output) is included in the calculation of the ΦH (Obtained heating output) for the Room and is shown in the Results window, List of rooms - heating tab.
- The presence of the Other heater element is displayed in the Results window, List of radiators tab.
