Problem description

When creating an automatically generated Schematic view the following message associated with an asymmetrical installation can occur:

  • Asymmetrical installation. A problem with matching cold water, hot water and circulation installations to terminal units on the "Schematic view" has occurred.

Solution

The warning occurs when generating a Schematic view for a large asymmetrical installation with Cold water, Hot water and Circulation. In this case it is important to know that it is very difficult to create an adequate Schematic view suitable for further use with a single Starting point (Water supply systems).

1. Asymmetrical installation. A problem with matching cold water, hot water and circulation installations to terminal units on the "Schematic view" has occurred.

To eliminate the warning and create the valid Schematic view of such an installation, we recomend to divide it into fragments:

  • Insert the Starting point (Water supply systems) on the Source, in the Data table window in the field Presented on schematic view leave enabled the items Installation between source and risers and Risers to create the Schematic view of the network pipe-runs and the Risers.
    Note: Disable the Generate schematic view box in order to fix this fragment of the scheme and not to generate it when executing subsequent fragments.

  • Insert the Starting point (Water supply systems) on each Riser consistently to create separate Schematic views.

    Note: By default each fragment is generated on the individual Worksheet. But it is possible to place all the fragments on one Worksheet. For more information, see: Automatically generate schematic views.

If the warning appears, there are also other methods to improve it:

  • Method 1: insert the Control point. Indicate "Yes" for the Disconnect on schematic view. In this case the part of the installation will be disconnected from the node behind the place of inserting;

  • Method 2: use the properties of the Starting point (Water supply systems), such as Max. length of pipe-run to be hidden.

  • Mathod 3: create separate Schematic views for Cold water and Hot water+Circulation using the function "Separate schematic views" in Data table for element Starting point (Water supply systems).
    For more information, see: Schematic view - Water supply systems.
  • For the installations with the manifolds created manually with the Pipe-run it is advisable to use manifolds from the neutral catalogues, as these contain sets of pipe sections and tees in the form of manifolds, the use of which significantly improves the quality of the schematic view.
