Problem description

Often when Designing mechanical ventilation installations there is a need to place the ducts, connected to the air diffusers on the ceiling of the Storey below, on the Storey above. This article describes in detail how to realize such arrangement in the program.

Solution

The steps to perform should be the following:

  1. In the General data window / Storeys management tab specify:
    • The Distribution of ventilation system for the Storey on which Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements are located as Under upper slab,
      1. Distribution of ventilation system for the Storey on which Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements are located.

    • The Distribution of ventilation system for the upper Storey as On lower slab - in this case the default distance of the axis of ventilation elements will be measured from the lower slab,
      2. Distribution of ventilation system for the upper Storey.

    • The values of ΔHvent,supp,c,up (Default distance of ceiling air diffuser from false ceiling) and ΔHvent,ex,c,up (Default distance of ceiling air extractor from false ceiling) taking into account the value of the Thickness of false ceiling for the Storey where Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements are located;
  2. In the 2D editor window:
    • Place Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements on the lower Storey (watch the video below),
    • Copy Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements to the Storey above with the use of the Copy selected elements to the storey above function - in this case the duplicates of the Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements on the higher Storey will be used to connect the ventilation installation;
  3. Delete the Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements on the Storey below - in this case they won't be visible on the plan view of the lower storey, but will be placed directly in the necessary locations;

  4. To export / print the plan view of the lower Storey with visible Supply air ceiling terminal / Exhaust air ceiling terminal elements:
    • Create Graphical printouts,
    • Determine Print levels range - higher and lower Storeys,
    • Define the Element layers from an additional storey/levels.
      3. Element layers from an additional storey/levels.
