Scope of lesson

The article presents the manner of designing a radiant heating system when the starting point is a project file generated by means of the InstalSystem SMART mobile application.

Modules and program configuration

InstalSystem 5 with the module:

  • Radiant systems

Project file

The project file used in this lesson: Radiant heating installation on the basis of data from Smart application (example for the lesson).

Inital state

The project contains:

  • catalogues and default data,
  • building structure (storeys, rooms represented by labels) including storey plan drawing,
  • manifolds.

Steps to perform

Opening the project file

  1. Open the project file created with the InstalSystem SMART mobile application.
    For more information, see: Project and application management and InstalSystem Smart 5 - Quick sizing and estimation of underfloor heating system

Preparing the building structure

  1. Rescale the base drawings used in the mobile application preserving the arrangement of inserted components.
    For more information, see: Import files
  2. Check the locations of room labels - these should be located inside the rooms shown in the base drawing.
  3. Redraw the rooms in the rescaled base drawing.

    Data of rooms created with the mobile application will be adopted if the room label is within the room created with InstalSystem 5.

  4. Check the data in the Data table of the Room. Some default data are not transferred automatically to component data.

Editing the system - radiant system

Heating/Cooling Zone

  1. Adjust the shape of Heating/Cooling Zone.

Manifold

  1. Adjust manifold arrangement.

Editing system component data

Check the data in the Data table. Some default data are not transferred automatically to component data.
