Description

To speed up and facilitate the process of creating installations with repetitive sets of Fittings, such as pump set, water meter set, etc., the programme provides the creation and saving of modules containing the required Fittings. Such a module can be used multiple times in a given project or in other projects by inserting it on the selected pipe-runs in 2D editor or in 3D view.

Location in the program

  • The icon Create a module with fittings is available in the Main tools toolbar, section Edit.
    1. Location in program.

Example of use

Module Creation

  • Draw an unconnected single-section Pipe-run and place the required Fittings on it, observing the required distances. The position of the fittings closer to one end of the Pipe-run or the other will be memorised and used when working with the function.
    The Pipe-run of existing installation can also be used to create a module. However, it is important to remember the relationship between the valve types used in the project. Because when using in the created module valves defined according to the "auto" mode, the programme will automatically select their types by default depending on the location.
  • Select the fittings you have added and use the Create module with fittings function, specifying the name, description and icon of the module.

  • Add a ribbon with the created module using the Ribbon settings function: File / Settings / Ribbon settings:
    • Create New tab or use previously created one;
    • Create New gallery or use previously created one;
    • Use the function Add selected module to selected gallery Add selected module.png.

Module insertion

Insert single module

  • Select an editor (2D editor or 3D view) and the appropriate editing scope;
  • Select the required module on the appropriate tab and in the gallery;
  • If necessary, select the Mirror checkbox;
  • Insert the module on the required Pipe-run;
  • In case of unsatisfactory positioning of the module, correct the positioning of all components of the module or its separate parts;
  • Check connections and types of fittings and their orientation in relation to the flow direction.

Insert module multiple times

  • Select an editor (2D editor or 3D view) and the appropriate editing scope.
  • Choose the Pipe-runs where the modules are to be positioned;
  • Use the Insert to all selected components function. The position of the inserted module relative to the end/beginning of the Pipe-run, on which it was created, will correspond to the position in the module definition;
  • Correct the positioning of the module or its separate parts. Note: The location of the module can be easily changed using the pop-up menu of the Pipe-run (right mouse click);
  • Check connections and types of fittings and their orientation in relation to the flow direction.

Additional information

Such types of fittings as Pump, Filter, Non-return valve are always automatically orientated in relation to the flow direction and this orientation should not be changed.
